Arlanda Airport offer free parking for dogs on New Year’s Eve
On New Year’s Eve night, Stockholm Arlanda Airport, offer free parking to give firework-sensitive dogs the chance to celebrate a calm New Year without the sound of fireworks and firecrackers.
All year round, Swedavia’s ten airports are there for those who want to explore the world, but there is one night when some would rather crawl as far under the bed as possible.
We are, of course, talking about our four-legged friends who become frightened during New Year’s Eve and need to escape to a place where fireworks are not allowed.
That is why Stockholm Arlanda Airport open their long-term parking area for free parking for dog owners from 8:00 PM on New Year’s Eve, December 31, until 1:00 AM on New Year’s Day, January 1.
Already a few years ago, we noticed a large number of cars with anxious dog owners and their pets driving around on and near the airport on New Year’s Eve. That’s when the idea was born to open one of our parking areas for a few hours that evening. This will be the third year we are running this much-appreciated initiative, says Karl Eklund, Airport Director at Swedavia Stockholm Arlanda Airport.
